°C-ute: The 5-member Japanese girl group that can rock songs as fierce as kiss me, Aishiteru one moment and as cute as Momoiro Sparkling the next. This tumblr: Snapshots of their °C-uteness. |
Yesterday was the final recording for Inter FM “FIVE STARS”.
It’s a radio program we had for two years. The main personality was Nakky, and each episode, a different C-ute member appeared as a guest.
When I compare the recordings from the first episode and the last, Nakky’s growth in style is amazing.
No matter what, absolutely, she guides our conversations along smoothly, and, while keeping an eye on time, wraps up the talks well.
To fans that’ve listened in, thank you very much for the past 2 years.
And, to Nakky, thank you for the hard work you put in during those years. Really, thank you so much.
"Yajima Maimi commenting on Nakky and C-ute’s FIVE STAR radio show, which ended September 29th this year. Went back and edited a bit of the translation.

Short summary of things C-ute think are cute:
Nakky: Gakuen Alice. Nakky totally has good taste in shoujo.
Maimai: Pocchama (Piplup from Pokemon). Maimai is forever a Pocchama fan.
Airi: mori girl fashion and Kakurega. Thanks for making me waste thirty minutes of my life looking at adorable pictures, Airi.
Maimi: C-ute. You would, Maimi. You would.
Chisa: Dragonball. And Launch. Probably bad Launch. Chisa is so badass she finds DRAGONBALL “cute”. CHISAA. I love how C-ute reacts as if this is totally normal. They’re so used to Chisa’s Chisa-ness. ♥
I love how Maimai gets embarrassed and tries to hide their sisterly relationship.
Don’t lie, Maimai. With how often you guys are on tour, Maimi might have as well raised you. And Leader can totally see right through her bluff. ♥
I’m the youngest child out of the three siblings in my family, so I always thought,
“I want a little brother or sister.”
So, to have Maimai as my little sister made me happy ^ヮ^
Mai’s the youngest member you could say. To the people she’s opened her heart to, she is extremely friendly you know!? ♥
How do I put this…she’s like the spoilt child of the group. ^ヮ^ ***
And that side of her, when she feels lonely and says “I don’t want anyone to leave me by myself T~T”, is cute too… ^ヮ^

Maimi is the type of BAMF that would knock you out with an empty backpack and a thermos, all while wearing a giddy smile on her face.

Maimi is really good at exuding a confident, classy air, especially since—with her tennen personality—it doesn’t come naturally. She really had to work at it. It’s because she’s so professional and serious about her work that she really shines as one of Hello!Project’s greatest leaders despite having taken on that role so young. I love Maimi because she strikes the perfect balance between the obligatory mature “leader” personality and a softer, more natural gentleness. Rather than boss the others around, Maimi leads by example—in every live, she’s been the first to break a sweat, because she’s the first to give it her all when it comes to performing. Early on in the group’s history, Erika (as the eldest) all but shoved the leadership onto Maimi. I’m grateful for that. Because while all five remaining members of C-ute have awesome performance skills, by having someone as diligent as Maimi leading them in performance energy, C-ute is able to shine that much more brightly.
Those standing on stage now are:
Konno-san who has become a news anchor.
Ogawa Makoto-san who has finished studying abroad, and is now part of Dream Morning Musume.
The leader of the new Morning Musume, as well as Hello! Project’s leader, Niigaki-san.
Also, Takahashi-san who has soared off to pursue her new dreams.
However, their younger selves playing on the screen in the back still have such innocent expressions…
And now, after 10 years have passed since what’s on that screen, all of them have been able to realize their dreams.
Everyone has had to make such big decisions, and thought and worried hard about them, but they’ve surmounted it all!!
When I thought about that, and how much hope it gives me, how awesome it is, my heart just became too full, and I cried out loud.
Takahashi-san, thank you so much for everything until now.
You’ve been working hard these 10 years.

Maimi races Mano Erina at 0:35 and Fukuda Kanon at 5:30. Even before racing, Kanon had already resigned herself to losing.
Nakky races Kumai Yurina at 2:39. And yes, she totally complained that running against someone that tall was ridiculously unfair.
Chisa races Wada Ayako at 3:51, and both of them are cheating cheaters who cheat and start before the signal.
Final Results are at 6:17.
In conclusion, I have yet to see an athletic competition where Maimi doesn’t dominate, Nakky’s speed > Kuma’s incredibly long legs, and Chisa is a cheating cheater who cheats seems like more of an endurance runner to me.
